Duffy, Adopted November 2016
I was adopted by Mom Fabiola. She is an amazing Mom and is taking such great care of me. She is continuing my training and I love and respect her. So many people helped me along the way, Tim & Roxann at Redefined Dog Training, Judy-Rae, and the staff at Huntington Pet Vet. I am a very lucky boy.
DUFFY'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Duffy and I am a 4 year old, 18 pound, neutered Westie. I came to rescue because my elderly parents both went into the hospital. Mom's son called WROC and said that I would be euthanized unless they took me within the hour. Thankfully, WROC stepped in and saved me. I had no structure in my life and was left to my own devices. Now I am with WROC's trainer who is teaching me about the ways of the world. I am much happier and have learned obedience training and I am a different doggie. Soon I will be ready for adoption. I am looking for a strong pack leader who will continue my training and give me lots of exercise and attention. I will be a great friend, I promise. Duffy
Daisy, Adopted November 2016
I was adopted by Mom & Dad, Maude & John and I adore them. We go on long walks, spend great time together and I have my own corner of the couch. What more could a girl ask for? Life is very good. Daisy
DAISY'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Daisy and I am an 8 year old, 18 pound, spayed female Westie. I came to rescue because my 90 year owner was ill and went to the hospital. There was really no place for me to go, but the family called WROC, who welcomed me with open arms. I am a very sweet happy girl. I love going on walks every day which is something I have missed for a while. I like to dance for my dinner and my other favorite thing is the corner of the couch. I will cuddle up and watch TV for as long as you want. I had a dental cleaning at the vet and I am adoption ready. Better hurry with that application, I am going to dance my way into someone's heart very soon. XOXO Daisy
Gus, Adopted November 2016
It is funny how things turn out...I was so sad and now I am so happy. I LOVE my new mom Patty. She takes care of my every need. We love living at the beach, taking long walks, visiting restaurants, and spending lots of time together. I am very thankful for my new life!! XOXO Gus
GUS' ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Gus and I am a neutered, 20 pound, 8-9 years old Westie. My shots are current and I am microchipped. My family had a baby and there was no more time for me. I had been with them my whole life, so my transition to rescue was hard on me. But I am a Westie and weare made of tough stuff so I moved on and I am happy again. I really like to walk and I love to cuddle next to you on the couch while watching TV. I get along well with the other doggies in my foster home, but I am longing for a home of my own, one that will spend lots of time with me and love me to pieces. I have so much love to give, you will not be sorry. Big Westie Kisses, Gus
Issac, Adopted October 2016
I did not have to wait too long because WROC's previous adopter Chris took one look at me and that was that. He and Nabil rushed over to WROC and took me home. I fit in very easily with Charlie and Duncan because I just love everyone. Dad Chris says "Issac is such a good traveler! He has been to hotels, restaurants and stores with us, both out in the open and obscured in his travel case. He's a great companion!" This is the life I was meant to have. XOXO Issac
ISSAC'S ORIGINAL STORY: Hi there, my name is Issac and I am an 8 year old, 20 pound, neutered Westie. I came to WROC because my family had a baby and there was just no time for me. I am just the sweetest guy ever and I really love being with people. I earned my "Good Citizenship" status a few years back and I can do a trick or two. I am looking for a new family that will love me as much as I love them. Waiting patiently, Issac
Blizz, Adopted October 2016
My new Mom is Colette and she is the light of my life. She takes such good care of me and I go with her everywhere. My life has turned around completely and I am so happy. She told me she could not imagine what it would be like not to have me in her life and I feel exactly the same. Thank you for my second chance. Happiest Westie Kisses, Blizz
BLIZZ'S ORIGINAL STORY: When I arrived at WROC, I was in terrible shape. My skin and coat looked really bad and I had an infection. I did not feel well and was not very interested in playing, walking or even eating. But take a look at me now! My infection is gone and my coat is coming back. It is amazing what TLC, medicated baths, excellent vet care, and a healthy diet can do for a guy. I love my Highlander Hash and playing with squeaky toys. I am very sweet and like to sit close on the couch to watch TV and I am leash and house trained. I am 8-9 years old, 16 pounds, neutered, and current on all my shots. I would love a gentle family that would promise to take care of me forever. Happy Westie Kisses, Blizz
Rocco, Adopted October 2016
Patience pays off because Judy-Rae and Rochelle adopted me. I even get a little brother, Bogie, which makes this the best day of my life. My new Mom says it best: "We are so excited to welcome the very handsome Rocco to our family! He fits right in as if he's always been here, and he and our rescue Bogey love to play and chase each other around the house. His favorite things are his hedgehog, lots of pets and love, and bath time! Thank you WROC and Charlie and Jeromey at Mr. Pet Vet for all you do for the Westies and taking good care of Rocco! Rochelle, JR, Rocco, Bogey"
ROCCO'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Rocco and I am appoximately 9 years old, 20 pounds, neutered, microchipped, and current on my shots My Mom got really sick and I was sent to live with the grandkids who did not understand Westies. Then they decided they did not want me and I was in the car on the way to the animal shelter when a good samaritan neighbor stepped in and saved me. She took me in and called WROC. Whew, it was a really close call. I will follow you everywhere and give you my heart. I enjoy walking and I love my new diet of Highlander Hash. Waiting patiently, Rocco.
Brody, Adopted September 2016
I was adopted by one of WROC's favorite repeat adopters, Amanda & Kevin, and I am joining WROC alum, Piper. They are the most perfect family for me in every way. They are such a gentle and caring family. I am happy, happy, happy!
BRODY'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Brody. I am 3 years old, 14 pounds and neutered. I am a special little guy who has a neurological issue that causes me to drag my back feet. But I do not let that hold me back. I run and play and bark with all the other Westies. I am bright and alert and I truly enjoy life. I love going on walks and riding in the car. Every time the door to the garage opens, I race out thinking I might get to go and sometimes I do and I love the ride! And I adore my Highlander Hash, it is the best food I have ever eaten. I would like a gentle loving family to take care of gentle loving me! XO Brody
Hunter, Adopted September 2016
I was adopted by Grace, Keith, Ava & Robert and I love them. Here's what Mom Grace says about me: "I wanted to write you a heart felt “THANK YOU” for allowing our family to adopt Hunter. I’m still in awe of how all this came together seamlessly and how today we have the perfect addition to our family. Hunter is pure love, and he has won all of us over. So THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for what you do, for the passion that you have, and for the tireless time and energy you put into this wonderful organization which rescues not only dogs but sometimes people too. Your friend and Hunter’s mom, Grace"
HUNTER'S ORIGINAL STORY: As hard as it was, Hunter's owner relinquished him to WROC so he could have a better life. This sweetheart loves dog, people, his daily walks and is very fond of watching TV with his foster family on the back of the sofa. He is a perfect gentleman. Hunter is 8-9 years old, 20 pounds, neutered, current on his shots and microchipped.
Ella, Adopted August 2016
I was adopted by the nicest family, Mom & Dad Jon & Grace. They flew into town, swooped me up, and carried flew me away to the home of my dreams. I am so excited to see what my new life has in store for me. One Happy Puppy, Ella
ELLA'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am a 6 month old Westie puppy. I came to rescue because my family had no time for me. I am very active, inquisitive, happy, and busy so I need someone who has time to spend with me to teach me about the ways of the world. I love to play and race around the house and yard with squeaky toys and balls. I am almost house & leash trained because I am a very smart saavy girl. I am spayed, microchipped and I have all my shots. I am looking for the right family for a super cute girl like me. XOXO Ella
Princess Leia, now Sadie, Adopted August 2016
I was adopted by Mom & Dad Jill & Dave and the lovely Westie Sophie. Here's what Mom has to say about me: "This is the same wonderful organization we adopted Sophie from last October. We are already in love with Sadie's sweet personality. She came into our house with her tail wagging, such a positive attitude after what she has been through. We could learn a lot from our animals!"
PRINCESS LEIA'S ORIGINAL STORY: I arrived at the shelter so matted that I could barely walk. It was so hot and I was so miserable that shelter staff shaved off all my hair. I feel so much better and after all, it is only hair and it will grow back. I am approximately 6 years old, spayed, and microchipped. I had a dental so I have a bright shiny smile. And smile I do because I am so happy and sweet. I like nothing better than to be next to my foster Mom and I will tap her arm if I think I need more pets. I am house & leash trained and I use the doggie door with ease. I really am the perfect companion and I am waiting patiently for my perfect family!! May the force be with you...IT IS WITH ME! Princess Leia
Rex, Forever Fostered August 2016
After thoughtful reflection, we made the easy decision that Rex should join Joey, Holly & Ming as a forever foster. This beautiful boy is happy again, he plays with his ball and soft squeaky toys. He deserves the very best that we can provide for him.
REX'S ORIGINAL STORY: Rex was turned in by an owner who said that "he got bad really fast". Clearly, poor Rex was the victim of years of neglect. He lost a lot of weight, his skin was badly infected and he had to deal with other neglect issues such as infections. We immediately started our skin regime of daily soft scrub medicated baths and vet prescribed medicine and low and behold, we have a gorgeous boy. Rex will always need frequent baths and skin exfoliation. We are looking for a special family...one who will give this Westie boy all the love and care that he so deserves. Rex is happy again, he plays with his ball and soft squeaky toys. Rex is 21 pounds, 9 years old, neutered, and current on all his shots.
Georgie, Adopted August 2016
I have the most perfect family for me, Mom & Dad, Michele & Robert AND I have a new brother Bailey. They are gentle, caring and they think I am the best little Westie ever and Bailey is so much fun. I am trying my very best to show them how much I love and appreciate them. I am so happy with my new life. Huge kisses, Georgie
GEORGIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Georgie and I do not have a care in the world. I am happy go lucky and playful. In my previous life, I was living outdoors in this summer heat, dirty, and uncared for. My owner gave me away without a second thought...lucky for me because I am now with WROC. It just goes to show how resilient we Westies are. I cannot wait for my new family who will shower me with love and I will give such great kisses back. I am 1-2 years old, neutered, microchipped and my shots are current. XOXO Georgie
Cookie, Adopted August 2016
Cookie was adopted by one of our most favorite repeat adopters, Susan. Cookie is happy and thriving in her new home.
COOKIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: Sweet Cookie is approximately 8-9 years old. She was turned into the shelter because she was discovered to be hypothyroid. This very inexpensive pill has regulated her thyroid and with the proper diet, Cookie has lost 6 lbs in foster care. There is no doubt that Cookie was out of sorts and upset after losing the only home she knew. But after a few weeks in foster care, she has settled in beautifully, loves the routine and is especially fond of her foster and resident Westie friends. Cookie had her teeth cleaned, she is up to date with shots, spayed and microchipped. All she needs now is a loving home.
Lily Lady Bug, Forever Fostered August 2016
The Lady Bug is now home. She is forever fostered by WROC and Chris. Godspeed sweet Lady Bug.
LILY LADY BUG'S ORIGINAL STORY: Having a lady bug land on you is a magical moment. When we walked out of the vet's office today, a lady bug landed on Lily's nose. This darling little girl was found in an alley way, lost, scared and awfully neglected, but thanks to a lovely young lady, Lily made it to WROC safe and sound. Lily was matted and had to be shaved, but even so she is still so adorable! She is full of kisses, quiet and just so grateful to be in our hands. She is a tiny girl, all of 11 lbs. She had her shots done, blood work, fecal exam, microchip and dental. Lily is estimated to be around 12 years old; an older gal that is looking for the perfect retirement home. Her coat will grow out in no time. We look forward to seeing this little pop tart blossom. Thank you Stephanie for helping Lily find her way home!
Alfie, Adopted July 2016
I was adopted by Nikki, Eva, & Bill - the best Westie family in my universe! I have lots of humans and dogs to play with. I am so very happy and content with my new life. I am very grateful for my second chance with this wonderful Westie family.
ALFIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: Alfie's family had a change in circumstances and they relinquished him to WROC. He is shy with strangers but when he warms up, you will find a very fun personality. He is a gentle boy who enjoys the company of other dogs, walking in the park, and of course Highlander Hash. Alfie is 3-4 years old, microchipped, neutered, and all of his shots are current.
Pixie, Adopted July 2016
I was adoped by my Mom, Karen. I LOVE HER! Here is what Mom thinks: "I wanted you to know how great Pixie is doing. I think she feels at home. She sits for her meals, eats all her food and is great on a lead. She is so good with all people & dogs and she loves my family. I think she knows that I am her person and I am most grateful to have this sweet little girl in my life."
PIXIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: She had been watching me for weeks, worried that I would get hit by a car or chased down by a coyote. She called the authorities but they said there was nothing they could do. She would bring me home every night after work only to find me out in the street again the next day. Sometimes she would see me tied up to the front porch with no water, food or bed. She never saw me eat so she would sneak food when she knew no one was home. Then one day she heard me cry as my owner opened the front door and let me go. She confronted my owner only to receive a heartbreaking response. "I don't care what you do with her. Just get her out of here". She swooped me in her arms and took me home and then called WROC. I was neglected, matted, skinny and had cuts and scratches all over me. My owner was not good to me. But now that I am a WROC'er, I've had all my wounds attended to, blood work, dental, vaccinations and I have received a clean bill of health. I am ready for my new life thanks to a gal named Tracy who wouldn't turn her back. XO Pixie
Henry, now Bradley, Adopted July 2016
Look at this fabulous family that WROC found for me! Mom & Dad, Cindy & Tom, know all about us Westies. They take me with them everywhere and I am so happy. I think I was sent to them by Westie Angel Zachery who knew they needed me. I promise I will take very good care of them! Love & Westie Kisses, Bradley
HENRY'S ORIGINAL STORY: I just arrived at WROC with Georgie. We were living outdoors in this summer heat, dirty, and uncared for. Our owner gave us away without a second thought...so lucky for us because we are now with WROC. Our foster Mom has promised that we will have a caring home filled with love and happiness and we cannot wait! I am 1-2 years old, neutered, microchipped and shots are current. I am working on my leash and house training, but I am a very smart boy and am learning quickly. XOXO Henry
Lucinda, now Gracie, Adopted July 2016
My new Mom is Katie and I adore her. We are together almost 24/7 and that is the perfect life for me. I am so grateful to everyone who helped me find my way home. XOXO Gracie
LUCINDA'S ORIGINAL STORY: A holiday weekend is the absolute worse time to be brought to a shelter, but there was no other option. My family lost their home and was living on the streets. They tried real hard to make it work but as they struggled, I was struggling too. They made a heartbreaking decision to bring me to a shelter so I would at least have a chance, but time ran out within days of being brought there. A shelter worker took pity on me. She and I both knew what was going to happen. She called every rescue she knew, but everyone passed me up because I cowered in the back of my cage, afraid to make eye contact with anyone and even refused treats. As a last ditch effort, the shelter worker reached out to WROC hoping for a miracle, but being in a different state there was no guarantee they could get here in time. But WROC did! Bob fueled his plane and took to the skies just for me. There were so many people rallying for my release. Debi, Mary, Brittany, and Bob gave me my life back. I am settling in nicely with WROC and they say I am the sweetest most gentle and grateful little girl ever. I am a approximately 5 years old. I am spayed, microchipped, current on my shots and weigh 17 pounds. I am warming up to everyone around me…I just needed a little time, nutritious meals and a gentle hand. Turns out this Independence Day holiday was the best day of my life! Relieved and very grateful, Lulu
Simone, now Millie, Adopted July 2016
I was adopted by my wonderful new Mom & Dad, Gail & Colin. Mom says: "Miss Millie is a treasure. We have been blessed with such a great furbaby". I am loved and safe. XOXO Millie
SIMONE'S ORIGINAL STORY: Animal control found me wandering the hot streets of Southern California. I was so tired, thirsty and hungry that I could barely take another step. The shelter was crowded, noisy, and scary and no one came for me. I began to wonder if I would make it out of this terrible place, but then my rescue angel arrived and told me everything would be ok. I knew I was safe. And now I am with WROC, awaiting my next adventure. I love to be next to my people and would prefer a family that will spend lots of time with me. I am a very sweet 3-4 year old, 13 pound girl, spayed, microchipped, and current on all my shots.

This keeps me healthy & happy. I am a normal playful Westie. I love to go on walks and ride in the car. I am a great companion and I love the company of dogs and people. I am looking for a family who has lots of time to spend with me and who will love me as much as I love them. XOXO Lucy Lou

MOLLY'S ORIGINAL STORY: My name is Molly and I am a 6 year old, 16 pound, spayed Westie. I was in a high kill county shelter but the second I was available, WROC's amazing team jumped in to bail me out. Thank you so much Betze. I was dirty and matted, but I had my beauty makeover and I emerged a beautiful Westie girl. I am gentle, sweet, and give soft kisses. I will make the perfect addition to my new family! XOXO Molly

LOLA'S ORIGINAL STORY: Lola is an adorable 9 year-old, 13 pound female Westie. Her previous owner was no longer able to keep her and thankfully, she contacted WROC. We welcomed her with open arms and she is safely awaiting her forever home. Trixie, Adopted March 2016
Could life get any better? I was adopted by Mom & Dad, Jennifer & Harold. I got 3 great kids and I am living the most wonderful life in Newport Beach. I am the happiest and most gorgeous girl ever!! My life is filled with miracles. Love Trixie
TRIXIE'S ORIGINAL STORY: Sometimes the world seems like a cold, cynical place where miracles only seem to come around Christmas time. That's when you start hearing about "Christmas miracles," those amazing tales about dogs like me overcoming impossible odds, but I had a pretty good life. Some may not agree because I was abandoned behind a shop building when I was about a year old. I was young, homeless and worried, but a stranger took me in who was also homeless living in a car behind the same building. It didn’t take long before the shop owner saw we were trespassing so he did the most amazing thing. He set us up in the apartment above the shop and for the next six years, he took care of my owner and me. Things change though, my owner got sick and was moved to hospice care and that’s why I am now with WROC. The shop owner wants the best for me and it is his wish that I find a new home for Christmas. But I don’t think he realizes that my life was Christmas year round because of his huge gentle heart and compassion for people and animals alike. I think he is Santa Claus! Actually all of us at WROC think so! I have great memories. I am lucky. I will never forget my owner or Santa Claus. Maybe I am a Christmas miracle after all. How many girls can say Santa Claus checked in on them every single day? It’s still a wonderful life thanks to a homeless man and a kind shop owner. I am 7 years old, spayed, shots are current and I am microchipped.

TIGGER & SKIPPER'S ORIGINAL STORY: Our owners gave up Skipper & me because they were moving and unable to take us with them. We transitioned into our foster home very nicely. We are typical Westies, a bossy, beautiful girl and a good natured, gorgeous boy. We get very excited when we see our leashes because we know its time to go for a walk. We really enjoy our new diet of Highlander Hash, it is so yummy. We are looking for a Westie-savvy family who understands us Westies and will cherish us forever! Tiigger is 17 pounds, Skipper is 20 pounds. They are spayed & neutered, microchipped, & shots are current.
Will, Adopted February 2016
WROC took its time and a great deal of care to find the perfect home for me and they really did it!! I hit the jackpot with Judy-Rae, Rochelle, and my new pal Bogey. Thank you Charlie & Jeromey for taking such good care of me. I am forever grateful and very happy with my new life. Will
WILL'S ORIGINAL STORY: I am a 9 year old neutered male Westie. My family gave me up and I was very sad at first and did not understand what was happening, but I am recovering from the loss and discovering how good my new life can be. It is so nice to be in the house again and to go on long walks. I love my new food and happily clean my bowl. I have great house manners and enjoy hanging out with my new people. XOXO Will
Fritz, Adopted February 2016
Turns out that California really is the place to be. I have this great new family, Mom & Dad, Vicki & Duncan, and my very own kid, Stella. They promised me that I will never ever be lost again!! I am very happy. Fritz
FRITZ'S ORIGINAL STORY: Animal Control found me wandering the streets and took me to the shelter. I waited patiently, but my owners never came for me. I felt like no one cared about me and I was sad. Little did I know WROC was looking out for me and they brought me home. What a life-changer!! I am a sweet, strong guy. I love to walk and am working on my leash training. I really enjoy being petted and will sit quietly by your side. I am 8-9 years old, 22 pounds, current on my shots and microchipped. Unfortunately for me, the shelter gave me a buzz cut, but it is only hair and it will grow back. I would really like a family to love, one that would never lose me again. XOXO Fritz
Nate, Adopted January 2016
The adorable Nate was adopted by Kathi, Bill & the lovely Libby (a WROC alum). Mom Kathi writes "Nate is settling in beautifully with Libby and our family. Thank you to all of the people at WROC. Our family is blessed."
NATE'S ORIGINAL STORY: Hi there, my name is Nathan, but my friends call me Nate. Sadly, I was left at midnight in the night drop at a shelter in Las Vegas. Believe me, I could not wait to get out of there. With the help of WROC's Alan & Barbara, I hopped on a plane and flew away as fast as I could. I now have a new twist on the saying "what happens in Vegas does not have to stay in Vegas". I am happily residing in sunny Southern California until I find my new home. I am an easy-going happy guy. I am very friendly and love my people and other dogs. I walk nicely on a leash and sleep quietly in my crate all night. I love to cuddle next to you on the couch and will follow you everywhere. I am 17 pounds, 5-6 years old, neutered, microchipped and all of my shots are current.
Frazier, Adopted January 2016
I was adopted by Anne-Marie & Martin and I am so happy. Here's what my wonderful new Mom had to say about me: "We just got home after picking up Frazier. What a precious boy. He fits right into the family. He will get extra walks and remain on a diet!! Thank you for finding the perfect dog for us. ~Anne Marie"
FRAZIER'S ORIGINAL STORY: It has been a hard couple of days, but I’m safe in my foster home and hoping to find a new, forever home very soon. I am a 9-10 year old, neutered male Westie and a very loyal companion. I love to play with toys and other dogs in my foster home. I roll over so that you can rub my belly and I sit quietly on the couch next to you when you watch TV. I get so excited when it is time for our walks. I’m house trained and know how to use the doggie door. I’m a bit overweight, but my foster mom says that can be fixed with my new diet and two walks each day (did I say I love to walk?). My right eye needs medication every day for a condition called “dry eye.” It does not produce enough tears to keep my eye moist, so I need eye drops and ointment. I am neutered and all of my shots are current. I am fun-loving and full of life and gratitude.
